CB
Radio was at it's peak in the mid-70's and the movie industry
was not unaware of this fact, so they tried to cash in with a
slew of movies like:
Convoy
Smokey
and the Bandit
Smokey
and the Bandit II
Breaker-Breaker
and
Citizens
Band
Of
all of the movies I've just mentioned, Citizens Band is probably
the closest to what was going on in the world of CB in the U.S.
at that time. Granted, not all of these "Characters"
were in each town, but I'm sure some of you will say:
"Hey!
That guy reminds me of......"
at
one time or another.
As
movies go, this one falls into the "Okay" category,
and I always find parts of it amusing, but my main gripe with
it is that almost every radio used and / or seen in the movie
is a Radio Shack product. Historically, it would have been nice
to be able to look back and see the awesome choice that most of
us had to pick from back in the "olden" days.
The
last time I checked, "Citizens Band" was only available
forsale in the $50-$60 price range. I've scanned in some of the
original movie cards (which can be found forsale from time-to-time
on E-bay) for your viewing pleasure!
